Fusion Fest 2008/ HHBHL (Hip-Hop BHL) Summary
Purpose:
To spread the ConneXions (healthy Christian Leadership, www.leadersource.org) principles to regional and national Christian Hip-Hop leaders, and to reach out to the Elkhart area with Gospel Rap and Holy Hip-Hop concerts.
Friday 28th of March
The Teaching
This years Fusion Fest was highlighted and blessed by the Lords presence going before us. Fusion hosted Christian Rap leaders from 6 different states and numerous regional cities. We started out the teaching segments with prayer and God met us powerfully by his presence. A Living Faith Fellowship member led the devotion time with a theme of “trust” in God. This was challenging, however, it was the word that many of our HHBHL participants needed to hear before being challenged by the Cx principles.
The teaching was powerful and interactive. The participants received the 5 “C” models (Leaders built on Christ, Community, Character, Calling and Competency) with similar results and comments. Comments such as, “This isn’t new it’s just getting back to the basics” were made throughout this time of teaching.
Through tears and affirmation, the cohorts began to work and evaluate themselves and the people that God has gifted them to work with. Powerful is the only word that I can use to describe this.
The Living Faith Fellowship teams were very welcoming and warm to our guests. I heard from many of our guest, some of which were here for the first time, that they felt as if they were at home. This only helped to strengthen the teaching and power of a healthy community. Wow!!!
The Outreach
This was perhaps the smoothest and one of the most anointed concerts that we’ve ever experienced. We were blessed to have many youth organizations in attendance that were touched and impacted by the ministry of the Holy Spirit through music by our guests. We had no idea but the Lord had the LFF family interceding at the half night of prayer. We definitely felt the power of the prayer from the saints. It was a powerful event that lasted until about 11:30 a.m. The at-risk youth that attended were impacted and touched by the music and the ministry. We were also blessed to have an After Party (another experience after the first concert) at a local Christian nightclub here in Elkhart. The Lord had recently connected us with this organization and the relationship has been extremely beneficial. We praised the Lord and reached out until about 2:30 a.m.

The Teaching
After a long night of praise, this was perhaps the most challenging assignment that the participants would face. This was by design to see what would happen and who would press. The Lord blessed and we had a good group to start with at 8:45 am Saturday morning.
Rachel led us in the devotional time and this was a most intense time of worship and crying out to the Lord on behalf of the Lost. Dynamic is how I would describe this time of kneeling and wailing for the souls that are being held in the balance. We had a strong plee for no more “church games” but true ministry to evangelize and reach the lost.
The teachings followed and the hearts were open to first looking at our own hearts and then to work on specific design and learning experiences to reach out to our communities. The Lord also blessed us at the end of the teachings with a camera and a newscaster whom we had met at the Christian nightclub a few nights prior. We were referred names and addresses of other urban leaders who might want to partake in the another HHBHL. We are planning to have another teaching in 4-5 months time. The public at large was introduced to Living Faith Fellowship and Fusion Radio and all of our efforts to reach the youth and those who are a part of this generation. The Outreach
The concert at Living Faith Fellowship was heavily anticipated and it lived up to its expectations. We had a wonderful time of praise and fellowship as Artists/Ministers from eight different states and numerous denominational backgrounds united to bring the gospel to the Elkhart area. Some of the highlights included attendance by a birthday party for an eleven year old who wanted to spend the time at church listening to Christian rap and many new converts to Christianity who have been strengthened by the ministry of Fusion Radio. We also reached out to those who wouldn’t normally come to a “church”. We had a great time and many new relationships were made. We look forward to what will happen next in our urban outreach, as we plan to use this concert experience to launch an indigenous meeting to reach the Hip-Hop generation. We plan to start this meeting in Mid-April. Please pray as we press forward.
Blessings
